Powerful Analysis Tools
MIMneuro provides three powerful complimentary methods of quantitative analysis: region, voxel, and cortical.
Region-based Analysis compares the patient's brain to the normal database using atlas-defined structures, or user-defined regions, allowing abnormal regions to be easily identified. A table listing regions of hypo-metabolism, hyper-metabolism (or perfusion), and asymmetry is generated from the region-based analysis providing a quick and comprehensive view of the results.
Voxel-based Analysis allows statistical comparison of each voxel in the patient's brain to the normal database highlighting localized abnormalities. Voxels that deviate significantly from the normal database can be displayed in a Z-Score color table fused to the PET or SPECT scan or to a co-registered CT or MR.
Cluster Analysis adds further control to the voxel-based analysis by displaying only clustered groups of voxels that are abnormal based upon user defined statistical significance levels.
Cortical Analysis enhances visualization of the brain through cortical surface projections, allowing for quick localization and identification of abnormalities. Cortical projections are also an ideal format for easily illustrating abnormalities to referring physicians.
