Take the Guesswork out of PET Contouring

With PET becoming increasingly important in Radiation Therapy, MIMcontouring and MIMcontouring Advanced provide a number of tools to take the guesswork out of PET contouring.

Proper anatomic alignment of the PET/CT scans to the planning CT is essential for accurate contouring of the target volume. This task is accomplished quickly and accurately with MIM’s diagnostic quality fusion capabilities.

However, non-rigid changes in anatomy and positioning can occur between the PET/CT and Planning CT, making a rigid alignment technique insufficient. The CT to CT deformable registration from MIMcontouring Advanced's VoxAlign Deformation Engine™ addresses this need, through PET/CT deformable co-registration.

Once aligned, tumors can be accurately defined on the PET volume using PET Edge, an innovative gradient-based segmentation method which detects the contour border based on changes in edge intensity. This method overcomes many of the limitations of SUV and thresholding tools allowing for precise tumor delineation.1
